$2.25M Mary Black Health System Settlement: Patient Claims Due August 31

Certain insured patients treated at Mary Black Memorial Hospital, Gaffney H.M.A. or another affiliated South Carolina facility may qualify for a payment from a proposed $2.25 million class action settlement. Claims must be emailed or postmarked by August 31, 2026.\n\n## Who may qualify\nThe certified settlement class covers people treated on or after January 1, 2014 by a South Carolina entity owned or affiliated with defendants, while covered by valid health insurance including commercial insurance, Medicare or Medicaid, whose bills were not submitted to insurance and who paid defendants or had a recovery reduced. Notice does not guarantee eligibility.\n\n## Benefits and filing\nThe $2.25 million gross fund is reduced by approved costs, fees, awards and taxes; the net is distributed pro rata based on approved loss and valid claims.
