A $15 million proposed settlement would resolve claims concerning certain Bestway-branded above-ground pools with exterior compression straps that were alleged to create a potential drowning hazard. The case is In re: Bestway Above-Ground Pools Litigation, No. 1:25-cv-09570, in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois. Bestway denies that the pools are defective and denies wrongdoing. The separate July 2025 CPSC recall and its free repair-kit remedy remain in effect and are not limited by this settlement.

- Second-hand purchasers and other groups excluded by the settlement are not included.
What you could receive
A valid claim with proof of purchase may receive 10% of the actual purchase price shown in the proof, or 10% of the average retail price if the proof identifies the covered pool but does not show the price. A valid claim without proof of purchase may receive $40. Payments may be adjusted under the settlement terms. The settlement does not replace or restrict the separate CPSC recall remedy.
