Overview

Pfizer agreed to a $44 million settlement in In re Chantix (Varenicline) Marketing, Sales Practices & Products Liability Litigation (No. II), Nos. 22-MD-3050 and 22-MC-3050, in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York. The lawsuit alleged that Pfizer manufactured and sold Chantix containing an undisclosed nitrosamine. Pfizer denies wrongdoing, and the court has not decided which side is right.

What you could receive

Consumers with valid claims may receive a pro rata payment based on the amount they paid for Chantix, up to the amount paid. Consumer payments are capped at 20% of the available settlement fund. The remaining eligible distribution is allocated to qualifying third-party payors on a pro rata basis. Final payments depend on approved claims and deductions from the fund.
