Covered use
LiveHealth Online appointment booking, October 2024 to August 2025
Court
Sacramento County Superior Court, No. 25CV026746
American Well Corporation, also known as Amwell, agreed to fund a $2,037,751.46 settlement of allegations that information entered or generated through LiveHealth Online's appointment-booking tools was disclosed to third parties without permission. Amwell denies violating any law, and the court has not decided which side is right.
The proposed class covers people in the United States who used the appointment booking tool on the LiveHealth Online website, iOS app, or Android app between October 2024 and August 2025. A valid claim is required by October 30, 2026. The notice estimates payments of about $51.14 to $102.29, but the actual amount depends on the number of approved claims and deductions from the common fund.
The Sacramento County Superior Court has preliminarily approved the settlement. Final approval is scheduled for consideration on January 15, 2027. Remaining in the class releases covered claims involving the use of Heap or other tracking, analytics, or advertising technologies on the LiveHealth Online digital properties.

What you could receive
Cash benefit
Pro rata settlement payment
Submit one valid claim and attest that you used a covered appointment-booking tool during the class period. No receipt, medical bill, or proof of financial loss is required, but the administrator may review claims for completeness, duplication, abuse, or fraud.
Payment method
Check, PayPal, or Venmo
Approved payments are scheduled after the settlement becomes final. The settlement permits check or electronic payment. Mailed checks become void if not cashed within 180 days.
Each class member who submits an approved claim is entitled to a pro rata share of the net $2,037,751.46 fund. The notice estimates approximately $51.14 to $102.29 per approved claimant. That range is not guaranteed. Administration, approved attorneys' fees and costs, and a possible service award are paid from the same fund, and the final payment depends on the number of valid claims. Payments may be issued by check, PayPal, or Venmo after final approval becomes effective. Checks expire 180 days after issuance.

Is the payment guaranteed to be at least $51.14?
No. The court-authorized notice describes an estimate of approximately $51.14 to $102.29. The final amount depends on approved claims and fund deductions.
What does pro rata mean?
